Preschool Connection Groups


Each Sunday morning our preschoolers experience creative classroom learning with hands on activities, Bible stories and songs! Our loving volunteers will teach your child to hide God's Word in their heart and experience God's love every day!

  • 2 and 3 year olds meet at 9:30 a.m.
  • 4 and 5 year olds / Kindergarten meets at 11:00 a.m. in the C Wing after having worship in the Fun Factory (B-120) at 9:30 a.m.

Kingdom Kids - Special Needs Ministry

The Kingdom Kids Ministry pairs youth and adults who have special needs to help them be successful in their Connection Group and Children's Worship times. If you have a child who would benefit from this ministry please contact the Children's Ministry office at 281.991.1232 or at children@fbp.org.


Security

The First Kids Preschool Ministry uses a computer check-in system to keep each child as safe as possible. Each time you bring your child, step to a computer to check-in. Type the LAST 4 DIGITS of your home phone number, or if you use a cell as your home number, type that in. The printer will print 3 labels for Nursery through Kindergarten.

  • One label should be placed on the child as a name tag
  • The TEACHER RECEIPT label should be given to the teacher as your child enters the class.
  • The CHILD PICK-UP RECEIPT should be kept by you, as the parent (Nursery/Kindergarten). This receipt will need to be given to the teacher when you pickup your child

Why We Are Here

Our mission is to encourage all aspects of each child's development: physical, educational, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual. This is achieved through:

Opportunities for each child to feel secure, loved, respected, and creative are provided each day. At Mother's Day Out, we believe in the child and their capacity to grow and learn. Our Mother's Day Out program has something to offer each child.

First Kids Mother's Day Out serves children from ages three months to four years.

Enrollment

Each spring, enrollment is held for the upcoming summer and school year sessions. Children presently enrolled in Mother's Day Out will have the first opportunity to register. Registration will then be open for our church members, followed by the community.

A completed enrollment form (available in the First Kids MDO office or by emailing firstkids@fbp.org), the non-refundable registration fee and an up-to-date immunization record is required to secure enrollment in the program.

As classes fill, a waiting list will be formed for each class. As space becomes available, they will be filled from the waiting list. No deposit or registration fee is required for placement on the waiting list.

Health

We take precautions to provide a safe and healthy environment for your child. This includes refusing to admit sick children into class.

Your child should be kept home on days he/she:

  • has had fever in the last 24-hours
  • has had diarrhea or vomiting in the last 24-hours
  • has been on an antibiotic less than 24-hours
  • has a persistent cough
  • has symptoms of a possible communicable disease
  • has redness, matting, or swelling of the eyes.
  • has head lice (must be nit and egg-free and checked by the Academy's school nurse before returning to school)
  • has any open sores

Children must be symptom-free for 24-hours before returning to school. Should your child become ill during class, you will be called immediately to pick him/her up.

Medications will not be administered by our First Kids staff without a current physician's prescription.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum of two weeks notice must be given for withdrawal from the program. Please consider this as a courtesy to the program and to those on our waiting list so as to enable us to fill the vacancy speedily.


Days Closed

Advance notice will be given for holidays or other days for which First Kids will be closed.

First Kids Mother's Day Out takes into consideration local school calendars.

School closures will be assessed by church administration.

Drop in Fee:  $30 per day (space permitting)

  • There will be a late charge of $20 for payments received after the fifteenth of the month.
  • A $15 fee will be assessed on all returned checks.


Fall Session Dates & Times


First Kids meet Monday and Friday, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Children are to arrive no earlier than 8:55 am.

They are to be picked up promptly at 2:00 pm.

Fall Session Extended Hours: 7:45 am - 3:00 pm

Children in our extended day will need to be picked up at 3:00 pm. Parents who are late will be charged $2 for every five minutes past 3:00 pm.

No child will be released to a person not authorized to pick up the child.

Fall Session Field Trips

Four year olds will take field trips during the year and all classes will participate in several "on-site" attractions located within our church facility. Permission slips will be required for each trip as well as a completed Medical Release Form.

 

First Kids Summer Program

Our Summer Program is open to preschoolers ages three months to students who have completed Kindergarten.

Summer Session Fees for 2017 are as follows:
